Providers, please read the following reminder for Standard 9.
Child Guidance: providers may only use a positive approach to child guidance and should communicate the approach to the parents. Providers must never inflict any physical punishment, verbal degradation or emotional deprivation. Providers must never deny, or threaten to deny, any basic necessity (food, drink, clothing, shelter). Providers must never use, or permit the use of, physical restraint, confinement or isolation.
